Terms of use

Last updated: August 31, 2026.

CalPay is booking and payment software provided by Sicena (David Portabella, Manresa, Catalonia, Spain), info@sicena.com. Using the service means accepting these terms.

What the service is

CalPay shows a professional's free hours, lets them be booked, charges the amount if applicable, and creates the appointment on their calendar with the video call link. Nothing else.

Who contracts with whom

This is the important point. The service you book is provided by the professional, not by CalPay. Sicena provides the tool; whoever commits to serving you, with the content, quality, and schedule they've advertised, is the professional you booked with.

The charge is theirs too. Each professional charges through their own Stripe account and it's them who issues the receipt and who is responsible for their own taxes. Sicena does not hold, intermediate, or custody anyone's money.

Therefore, complaints about the service received, refunds, and invoicing are handled with the professional. If the problem is with the tool itself — an email doesn't arrive, the video call link fails, you're charged twice due to a software error — write to us and we'll fix it.

Cancellations and refunds

The cancellation policy is set by each professional and is always shown before payment, and also in the confirmation email. Within that window, the appointment can be self-cancelled from the management link you receive by email.

There's one case we handle automatically: if a payment arrives after the slot has already been taken by someone else who paid earlier, the amount is refunded automatically and you're notified by email. We never keep a charge without there being an appointment.

Proper use

CalPay may not be used to book slots automatically or in bulk without intending to pay for them, to impersonate anyone, or for any unlawful activity. Bookings that appear abusive may be cancelled.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability, and may be paused for maintenance. Sicena's liability is limited, in any case, to the amount actually charged through the service for the affected booking. We are not liable for loss of profit or indirect damages. None of this limits the rights the law grants to consumers, which always prevail.

Third-party services

CalPay works with Stripe (payments), Google (calendar and video call), and Brevo (email). By using it, these providers' own terms also apply, to the extent they're relevant.

Changes and applicable law

These terms may be updated; the date at the top indicates the latest version. Spanish law applies, and for disputes, the courts of the consumer's domicile when the law so establishes.
